Sultan Çetin is a multidisciplinary creative researcher with extensive experience spanning both industry and academia. With a background in architecture and civil engineering, she has worked as a design manager on large-scale international projects across Azerbaijan, Russia, Türkiye, and the Netherlands. Her portfolio includes landmark developments such as the Baku Olympic Stadium, Trump Tower Baku, Sberbank Hotel, and The Dutch Mountains.

Sultan holds a master’s degree in building energy performance from TU Eindhoven and a PhD from TU Delft, where she specialized in digitalization for a circular building industry. In 2023, she served as the Embassy Science Fellow of the Netherlands, conducting pioneering research on integrating circular economy principles into post-disaster recovery and reconstruction following the Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at TU Delft, focusing on digital building logbooks. Additionally, she is the founder of the DiCE Lab (Digital Circular Economy Lab), where she collaborates with Prof. Dr. Catherine De Wolf (ETH Zurich) to organize online and in-person events that promote knowledge exchange and networking in the field.

Beyond academia, Sultan is engaged in visual storytelling. In 2023, she launched Studio Xplore, a space dedicated to exploring social issues through research and photography. She is currently developing Newcomers, a documentary photography project in collaboration with Dr. Özge Calafato, capturing the migration and integration stories of highly skilled Turkish professionals who have relocated to the Netherlands over the past decade. Her next project will focus on Third-Culture Children, examining the identities of immigrant children growing up in the Netherlands. In her free time, Sultan turns to painting as a way to quiet her thoughts, losing herself in shapes and colors.
